My Little Garden

I love a little garden. I claimed a little corner of dirt below the guesthouse for my attempts at growing a few edibles this year. The boys helped me get it ready (they like to dig in the dirt too). I planted some of the seeds I brought — a few kinds of tomatoes, peas, cukes (mostly things we can enjoy without our own kitchen for cooking) cilantro, cantaloupe — and then gave the rest of the big bag to the Ama las (house mothers). They were stoked to get some new things to try. They are gardening extraordinaires!

I don’t know if my spot is ideal. And it’ll be a new thing for me to have the rain deciding how much water everything gets…but I’m excited about it.

Dad picked our 1st raspberries today (yum!) and yesterday we ate steamed string beans , just picked. A couple weeks ago I picked a big bowl of sugar-snap peas. They’re the best! Wish we could check out yours, ‘cuz it looks great! Got a rare chance to see The Tempest at Cedar City Shakespeare Fest, Renon’s art at Wasatch-Air Art Fest, vacuumed at Grandma Ashby Pugmire’s (and Papa Pug’s),both events in Midway by Heber and hugs for Grandma+Pa Burgener at Claire’s sweet Baptism/Confirmation 7/6.
